KOCHI: Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate Jayakumar John on Wednesday reserved the orders after hearing the argument on the request made by Sam Christy Daniel, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mattancherry, for the custodial interrogation of R.O. Koya, accused in the Kochi arms seizure case. The Assistant Commissioner had sought the custodial interrogation for further investigation of the case registered by the Harbour Police under the Arms Act. The accused claimed that there was no material to connect him to the case and that the custody plea should be rejected. Mr. Koya was taken into custody on January 13 following the unearthing of the illegal import of weapons, including airguns and pistols, from a private freight station during routine clearance check on January 9. He hails from Orumanayoor, near Chavakkad.
