BHOPAL: "Investors from abroad and within the country would now get red carpet treatment in Madhya Pradesh and there would be no red-tape or procedural hurdles to delay implementation of new industrial projects," said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan at the opening session of the Khajuraho Investors' Meet on Tuesday. He said that necessary changes had been made in the State's industrial policy keeping in view the needs of the investors. He also gave the assurance that any shortcoming in the new industrial policy would be eliminated to create investment-friendly conditions and attract investments in key areas of development. He spoke about his recent announcement in New Delhi and said that an NRI Facilitation Centre had already been set up in the State. The Chief Minister said that he was glad a large number of investors had come to Khajuraho accepting his invitation extended during his recent visit to Malaysia and Singapore. The people of Madhya Pradesh regard every NRI investor as a hero, he added. "The NRIs play a significant role in enhancing the country's prestige abroad by their capabilities and industrious pursuits." On the immense possibilities and opportunities of investment in Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Chauhan said that the State was richly endowed with natural resources. "We produce diamond and there are huge deposits of coal, marble and granite in the State." Madhya Pradesh is also a major producer of wheat and rice, he said, adding there is great scope for setting up food processing industries in the State. Even the tourism sector had reached the take-off stage, he said emphasising the vast potential of religious tourism in Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister told the investors that there is no labour unrest in the State unlike many other States, including West Bengal. He said the investors would no longer feel cheated about their investments in Madhya Pradesh. He further said that special arrangements had been made by the State Government to "address their problems on the same day". The "Single Table" system had already been introduced "and a number of procedural lacunae removed to create a better climate for investment".
