39 held for violating order

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: With the Republic Day Parade just a week away, the Delhi police have arrested 39 people from different parts of the city on charges of violating the tenant verification order.

For the past few years the police have been appealing to landlords to get the identities of their tenants verified. Camps are organised from time to time at different places to sensitise them.

However, the police have not been getting the desired response from some areas.

To send across a strong message that those who do not comply will be dealt with strictly, the police launched a drive against such landlords this year.
