24 commercial properties sealed

NEW DELHI: Continuing with its ongoing sealing drive, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Wednesday sealed 24 more commercial properties in residential areas.

While six premises were sealed along Outer Ring Road from Chandgi Ram Akhara to G.T. Karnal bypass in Civil Lines Zone, 13 more were sealed on Vikas Marg Extension in Shahdara (South) Zone.

Five properties were sealed on Ring Road at Naraina in Karol Bagh Zone.

Road named after Dharamdas Shastri

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Krishna Tirath on Wednesday unveiled a new road named after former Karol Bagh MP Dharamdas Shastri near Pusa here.

Besides All-India Congress Committee general secretary Ashok Gehlot, Municipal Councillor Subhash Anand and Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma were among those present on the occasion.

Prayer session at Tees January Marg

NEW DELHI: To express concern over continued violence against children, especially those who were brutally killed at Nithari in neighbouring Noida, Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti is organising a congregation at its 5 Tees January Marg premises here on Thursday.

The organisation has called upon all sensitive citizens to join the prayer session that will begin at 11 a.m. The special congregation will be led by children from both government as well as public schools.

"World Peace and Meditation Week''

NEW DELHI: As part of the global "World Peace and Meditation Week'' being organised by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vidyalaya, a series of programmes including spiritual lectures, exhibitions, rajyoga meditation sessions, stress management, self-development and de-addiction camps are bring organised in and around Delhi.

The programmes that began on Tuesday are in commemoration of Prajapita Brahma's work and contribution towards realisation of universal peace, brotherhood, cooperation and happiness. Thursday will be observed as "World Peace and Meditation Day''.

High Court appoints Court Commissioner

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday appointed a Court Commissioner for inspection of all zonal offices of the Delhi Transport Authority to find out whether these were working in accordance with the law.
