The engagement of the celebrated Jodi No. 1 of Bollywood, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, was cause for celebration for not just the English news channels, but the regional news channels also. The news made it to the headlines in most Malayalam news channels no sooner than prominent English news channels began flashing their `Breaking News'. Special stories on the couple were aired by many regional channels in their entertainment section, including all vital information about the earlier flings of Ms. Rai and how Mr. Bachchan has been courting her. An anchor in one of the news channels, which ran a half-hour story at prime time on the engagement of the duo, could not contain his excitement while promising to deliver a lot to `satisfy all voyeuristic fancies' of its viewers.
