Talking to newspersons here, he said, the head regulator would draw water from the level of 854 feet from the Srisailam reservoir and other projects like Kalvakurthi lift and Nettempadu lift. Based on the surplus waters, it would draw water from a much lower level of 802 ft. and 823 ft. respectively. There was no other way but to draw a higher quantity of water from the head regulator in a short period to feed several projects based on the backwaters of Srisailam, he noted. State president of Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham and former legislator K. Ramakrishna demanded TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu to make his party's stand clear on the issue or explain how water could be given to the project taken up by their Government like Telugu Galeru-Nagari, Veligonda and others. Congress should also come out with a comprehensive water policy, he said.
