MUMBAI: Southern Railway edged out Central Railway 93-82 in an engrossing women's league match, the deadlock broken after the third period of extra-time in the second Savio Cup Don Bosco all-India basketball tournament on Thursday. Both teams were locked 66-66 after regulation time, and 74-all after the first five minutes of extra-time. Geethu Anna Jose, a pro competing in the Australian league, emerged outstanding performer for Southern Railway, electric on court to top-score with 44 points, as both teams responded differently in the third period. National men's champion, Services, recorded its fifth back-to-back win, defeating Punjab 91-67 in the round-robin league.
