NEW DELHI: The two alleged Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami (HuJI) militants, including a Bangladeshi national, arrested here by the Special Cell of the Delhi police on January 4 planned to carry out a blast in the Capital in the run-up to the Republic Day celebrations. Deputy Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar on Thursday said Mohammad Ameen Wani was arrested at Adarsh Nagar in North-West Delhi, while the Bangladeshi national, Lutufur Rehman, was arrested at Nizamuddin in South Delhi. Mr. Kumar said the two admitted that they had been directed to carry out a terrorist strike in the Capital before January 26.
