TDP leader's murder case adjourned to Feb. 8

ANANTAPUR: The Additional Sessions Court adjourned the hearing in TDP leader Tagarakunta Prabhakar murder case to February 8 here on Thursday. All the 11 accused in the case were produced in the court. On a request petition filed by the accused separately, Judge V. Chandrasekharan allowed them to speak to each other for five minutes. Accordingly, all the accused conversed among themselves.

A few accused in the case were produced in the court after being brought from Hyderabad, where they were lodged in two jails.

Those brought from Hyderabad included J. Srinivasa Reddy alias Moddu Sreenu, P. Damodar Reddy, M. Obi Reddy, P. Narayana Reddy, V. Kondaiah and V. Srinivasulu. While G. Suryanarayana Reddy was produced by bringing from district jail near here, others -- V. Venkatesh, Bhaskar Reddy, Sivalinga and Venkataramana -- who secured bail attended individually.

The then Mandal Parishad President of Tagarakunta B. Prabahakar was shot dead on September 5, 2004, on the Court Road here.
