Man dies after drinking alcohol

BANGALORE: Virupaksha (26) of Alavehinapalya was allegedly murdered on Wednesday in Tavarekere police station limits.

The police said he was forcibly served alcohol mixed with poison by persons yet to be identified.

The police said Shivashankarappa, a neighbour of Virupaksha, had complained that people known to him had invited him to discuss a financial transaction.

The police said the cause for the murder was not known. The search was on for the accused, they said.

Killed in accident

Gurudev Singh (35), who was allegedly driving a two-wheeler under the influence of alcohol, died when he drove into a median in the early hours of Thursday at Marappanapalya junction in RMC Yard Traffic police limits.

A cyclist was killed when a car hit him at around 7.30 a.m. on Thursday on Palace Road at Chalukya circle in High Grounds police limits.

The police said the victim, Nanjundegowda (42), a cook in the nearby restaurant, was a resident of Srinivasangar.
