She died in a hospital a little after consuming poison. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) K.V. Sharat Chandra said Manorama, who had strained relationship with her husband, Balakrishna Kakatkar, had been staying in the house of her relative Narahari in Nagarabhavi for the past one week. Before that she was away in New Delhi, where she was staying with her cousin, Indushekhar Bhinde for the last few weeks. Manorama's mother and another relative, who got the information about their stay in New Delhi, brought her back to the city.
Financial problems
Manorama and Mr. Bhinde had a business of converting CDs into DVDs and allegedly ran into financial problems. The Bangalore Rural District police said Mr. Bhinde too died of heart attack on Thursday.
Three suicides
Three more cases of suicides were reported from different parts of the city on Thursday. Hariprasad Kantharaj (23) of Kallambella in Tumkur district committed suicide by pouring kerosene over and setting himself on fire in Nandini Layout police station limits. The police said he was staying near New Public School, 4th Block, Nanadini Layout with a friend. Krishnamurthy (50) of Judicial Layout in Yelahanka police station allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his house. He was said to be in debt. A painter, Ramakrishnaiah, allegedly hanged himself to death in his house in Manjunathangar in Peenya on Wednesday.
