All set for Guntur 10K walk

GUNTUR : About 300 persons have registered for the Indian Springs and NRI Medical College Guntur 10K Walk Race to be organised on Sunday at 6 a.m. in the city to promote health awareness and improving the living standards.

At a press conference here on Friday, organising committee members said they were expecting another 300 persons to participate in the race that would originate at Indian Springs Schools in Lakshmipuram and culminate at the same place after touching the farthest point B.R. Stadium.

Third edition

This is the third edition of `Guntur 10K Walk Race' with a prize money of Rs.15,000 for the winner, Rs.10,000 for runner-up and Rs.5,000 for the second runner-up. Separate prizes would be given for men and women. Qualified referees would be deployed in the stretch. Each participant would be required to get five colour patches on their T-shirts as a proof of passing all the specified points.
