Rajahmundry: As the State Election Commission is gearing up for the council elections, MLC aspirants in East and West Godavari districts have intensified their campaign. There are seven MLC seats in the two districts. There are half-a-dozen candidates in fray as far as graduates' constituency is concerned from East and West Godavari districts. The main contenders for the seat are Chiranjeevini Kumari, who worked as principal of P.R. College, Kakinada, and a social worker. K.V. Satyanarayana Raju, known as `Chaitanya Raju' of Godavai Institute of Engineering and Technology (GIET) and Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) is also in the fray. He is encouraging his friend Nallamilli Adisesha Reddy, who is heading Aditya Educational Institutions in Kakinada and Rajahmundry, to contest from teachers' constituency. M. Padmanabham, former MP from Bhimavaram, is another contender from graduates' constituency. He led many movements in Godavari districts. Pakala Satyanarayana, contesting with the support of the BJP, also belongs to Bhimavaram. Cherukuru Subhash Chandra Bose is in the race from teachers' constituency. Mr. Subhash Chandra Bose is contesting with the support of United Teachers' Federation.
