THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The Kerala Government will bring to the notice of the Supreme Court the details of talks between Tamil Nadu and Kerala on the Mullaperiyar issue and the State's demand for the construction of a new dam.
This was decided at a high-level meeting, chaired by Minister for Water Resources N.K. Premachandran, to discuss measures to be taken by the State in view of a special petition and affidavit filed by the Tamil Nadu Government before the court.
The meeting decided to draw up a counter-affidavit, in consultation with senior Supreme Court lawyers.
An official release said the meeting was convened in view of the unilateral withdrawal of Tamil Nadu from the talks.
Additional Secretary (Water Resources) R.K. Agarwal and Special Secretary (Law) George James were among those present.
