Dharmapuri: More than 100 NCC cadets of the Government Arts College, Dharmapuri, took part in a cycle rally to create awareness among the public and youth on HIV/AIDS, female infanticide and drug addiction here on Saturday. Field Publicity Office Dharmapuri organised the cycle rally, which was flagged off by the Superintendent of Police H.M. Jayaram. The rally began at the Government Arts College and passed through Nayakankottai, Krishnapuram, Thippampatti, Irumathur, Kambainallur and B. Thurinjipatti. NCC cadets distributed pamphlets highlighting the ill effects of HIV/AIDS, female infanticide and drug addiction to people. Mr. Jayaram asked people not to discriminate between boys and girls to prevent the practice of female infanticide. Field Publicity Officer Murthy, captain Perumal and Dharmapuri Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahendiran took part.
