Haryana invites investments from Ontario

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday urged Premier of Ontario Dalton McGuinty to invest in the State.

Speaking at a seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry here in the presence of a Canadian delegation led by Mr. McGuinty, Mr. Hooda said there were several areas of mutual cooperation with Ontario, especially in automotive industry, power, agriculture and agri-food, education, infrastructure projects and environment.

He said there were operational synergies between Haryana and the Canadian automotive industry as Magna, an automotive supplier, had set up its first manufacturing plant at Manesar in collaboration with Lumax.

Mr. Hooda invited the Canadian and Ontario-based firms to invest in power transmission and its distribution besides food processing in Haryana.
