KOCHI: Kotak Mahindra Bank has launched gold coins and bars in the State. The 24-carat, Swiss-made metal, named Gold Eternity, will be available in all branches of the bank. The coins are of 5 and 8 g and bars of 20, 50 and 100 g. Sobhana, actor, released them at a function here on Friday. K.V.S. Manian, head, retail liabilities and branch banking, said the product would be available in tamper-proof packs. It carried certification denoting the purity level, according to international standards. The product would be ideal gifts, he said. So far, the bank had sold 185 kg of gold. By the end of the financial year in March, sales would go up to 300 kg. About 10 kg had been sold in Kerala.
