Man gets two-year RI

New Delhi: A Delhi court today sentenced a 64-year-old-man to two years' rigorous imprisonment for possessing heroin.

After hearing the arguments of the prosecution and the defence, Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) N Kumar Sharma held Onkar Swaroop Thukral, a resident of Karol Bagh here, guilty of possessing 260 grams of heroin and slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 on him. Acting on a tip-off, the Narcotics Branch of Delhi laid a trap on November 25, 2003 and nabbed Onkar in Karol Bagh on the spot while he and an associate were engaged in selling the heroin.
