Simla Youngs held

NEW DELHI: Defending champion Simla Youngs drew goalless with Ahbab Club in the inaugural super league match of the ONGC-SAIL DSA senior division football league at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Saturday.

The other match scheduled between Indian Nationals and Shastri Club could not be played, the organisers said, due to the non-availability of the ground.

However, the secretary of the Indian Nationals, Rajiv Aggarwal, claimed a `walkover' as Shastri Club had failed to report.

"There was no information about the cancellation and the co-convenor Kamaluddin insisted that the match would be played. There was no police occupation of the ground (for a briefing regarding the arrangements for the Republic Day parade). Even the flags had been placed. We gave a letter to the organisers demanding a walkover and were told that the matter would be discussed'', said the secretary of the Indian Nationals. — Special Correspondent
