LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Government on Saturday came down heavily on sugar mill owners for not clearing cane dues of farmers and warned stern action against erring parties. "To ensure payment of the cane dues is the first priority of the Government and the defaulters will be taken to task," said State Cane Commissioner Ganga Deen Yadav here. Mr. Yadav said notices were being served to the sugar mills for clearing the cane arrears forthwith. - PTI.
