HYDERABAD: KITS, Warangal entered the final of the S.R. Champions Trophy State-level inter-engineering college cricket tournament defeating JBR Engineering College (Hyderabad) by 22 runs in the semifinal here on Saturday. In the other semifinal, Aurora Engineering College scored an emphatic nine-wicket win against Thirumala Engineering College (Ranga Reddy).
The scores: Semifinals: KITS, Warangal, 129 for six (Yashaswi 59) bt JBR Engg College, Hyd, 107 for nine; Thirumala Engg College, Ranga Reddy, 86 for nine (Sharath three for eight) lost to Aurora Engg College, Hyd, 87 for one (Srikanth 56 n.o.).
Bhavana triumphs
P. Bhavana Suresh won the girls' under-14 singles title defeating Ch. Nidhi 6-3, 6-3 in the final of the Mon-ud-Dowla tennis tournament organised by Secunderabad Club on its premises here.

Srikanth emerges winner
P. Srikanth of Hyderabad won the Rotary A.P. open chess tournament organised by East Godavari District Chess Association in Mandapeta with 7.5 points at the end of ninth and final round. Srikanth drew with Sandeep Naidu in the final round to emerge winner while Abdul Azeez outwitted P.V.V. Seshu finished second. Sandeep Naidu stood third. The final placings: 1. P.Srikanth; 2. Abdul Azeez; 3. V.L. Sandeep Naidu; 4. Ch. Chandramouli; 5. Ch.R. Abhishek Reddy; .
Gymnastic trials
The Andhra Pradesh Gymnastics Association will organise open selection trials on January 21 at the Saroornagar Indoor Stadium here to pick the State teams for the National Games to be held in Guwahati from February 8 to 17. For details, call 98484 85093.
