NAMAKKAL: The Asia Motor Works (AMW) Limited, the latest entrant in the commercial vehicle segment, has launched its Global Truck series here on Saturday. Addressing a press conference, its Managing Director and Chief Executive officer Anirudh Bhuwalka said, "With Namakkal contributing nearly 60 per cent of South Indian market in the heavy commercial vehicles segment, we see a great business potential and we want to tap this opportunity." He said the Government's focus on improving the road infrastructure would fuel the growth of freight industry. Mr. Bhuwalka said that the AMW was expecting 50 per cent of its business to come from South India. The truck series with its higher horsepower offering, axles with greater reliability, load carrying capacity and cabins with greater safety and superior ergonomics would suit the business requirements of the growing Namakkal commercial vehicle market, he pointed out. AMW vice-president (Marketing) R.C. Mangal and senior officials of the company were present.
