NEW DELHI: Doordarshan viewers and radio listeners will be deprived of the coverage of the four-match India-West Indies one-day cricket series that begins in Nagpur on Sunday.

The talks between the national broadcaster, Prasar Bharti, and the Indian cricket's rights holders, Nimbus, fell apart on Saturday. A statement issued by Prasar Bharti on Saturday said that Nimbus did not agree to the terms of revenue sharing — 75:25 in favour of the rights holder, under the downlinking and uplinking guidelines issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Instead, Nimbus offered 15 minute deferred telecast on Doordarshan's terrestrial channel while Neo Sports would telecast the matches live. Prasar Bharti rejected the proposal.

Prasar Bharti's request for allowing live commentary on the All India Radio was also rejected by Nimbus.

Last year, Prasar Bharti and Nimbus had telecast simultaneously the India-England series live.
