`Adopt modern technology in agriculture'

Udupi: K. Raghupati Bhat, MLA, said on Saturday that the Karnataka Development Front Government was according top priority to agriculture.

After inaugurating the Farmers' Convention, organised by the Udupi Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC), here, Mr. Bhat said that agriculture had been the most neglected sector in the country.

Farmers were committing suicide in some States.

It was necessary for them to adopt modern technology in their fields to increase productivity.

The Government had announced subsidised loans for them, Mr. Bhat said.
