Arsenal beats Man U

LONDON : Arsenal stormed back from a goal down to beat Manchester United 2-1 in an engrossing English Premier League contest on Sunday.

Wayne Rooney's diving header after 53 minutes looked set to extend United's lead at the top to nine points but Robin Van Persie levelled after 82 minutes and Thierry Henry headed a dramatic winner in stoppage time.

United remains on 57 points from 24 games, six more than Chelsea. Liverpool has 46 with Arsenal on 45.

Earlier, Wigan Athletic's relegation fears intensified when two goals from Mikel Arteta gave Everton a 2-0 away victory.

Barcelona back on top

FC Barcelona reclaimed first place in the Spanish league after beating last-place Gimnastic Tarragona 3-0 on goals from Javier Saviola, Ludovic Giuly and Andres Iniesta on Sunday.

The win, Barcelona's first of 2007 and only its second in its last six matches, moved the defending champion above Sevilla on goal difference.

Real Madrid beat Mallorca 1-0 courtesy of Jose Antonio Reyes' 78th-minute goal and moved level on points with Barcelona and Sevilla but behind on goal difference.

David Villa scored his 10th goal of the season to help Valencia beat Real Sociedad 1-0 and move two points off the lead.
