Traffic restrictions today

NEW DELHI: The Delhi traffic police have imposed restrictions on vehicular movement in the Capital view of the full-dress rehearsal of the Republic Day Parade this Tuesday.

The parade will start at 9-45 a.m. from Vijay Chowk and culminate at Red Fort.

No traffic would be allowed on Vijay Chowk and Rajpath from 5 a.m. to 12-30 p.m. There would be no vehicular movement across Rajpath on Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh Road and "C"-Hexagon from 9-30 a.m. Besides, traffic on Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Subhas Marg would not be allowed from 10 a.m., but cross-traffic at the intersections on these roads would be allowed according to the position of the Parade.

Vehicular movement will be allowed on Ring Road, Mathura Road, Bhairon Road, Subramhania Bharti Marg, Aurobindo Road, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Kautilya Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent Road, Mandir Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, Boulevard Road, Shradhanand Marg, Naya Bazar, Pili Kothi, Pul Mithai and S. P. Mukerjee Marg.

Auto-lifters arrested

NEW DELHI: Five young men have been arrested by the Mayapuri police on charges of involvement in auto-lifting cases. Six stolen vehicles have been recovered at their instance.

On Sunday the police received a tip-off that some stolen vehicles were being disposed of at Mayapuri Phase-II. Subsequently a raid was mounted and five persons were arrested. During interrogation, the accused identified themselves as Harvinder Pal Singh, Tajender Singh, and three receivers of stolen vehicles, Ranjeet Singh, Surjan Singh and Jaswinder.

Man arested

NEW DELHI: The police have arrested one person for assaulting members of an enforcement team of the power distribution company NDPL during an inspection drive to check power theft here on Monday. The arrested person has been sent to judicial custody. In a separate incident, six consumers, including a factory owner, were booked for allegedly stealing electricity.
