Digvijay hits out at `corrupt' BJP Government

"Chief Minister remains a spectator"

Indore: Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh on Tuesday said the BJP Government in the State is "creating records in corruption".

Referring to the Transparency International report which ranked Madhya Pradesh and Bihar among the most corrupt States, Singh said the BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh is "creating records in corruption while Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan remains a mute spectator".

"When we were in power we had introduced a system under which details of properties owned by the Ministers, including the Chief Minister, were tabled in the Assembly. But the BJP Government has done away with the practice," the former Chief Minister told a press conference here.

About the proposed Indore Master Plan, he alleged that by increasing the residential and commercial area, the State Government would be "providing an additional income of over Rs 19,600 crores to the builder mafia".

Pension scam

Even the Governor has raised the issue of pension-scam allegedly committed when BJP Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya was the Mayor of Indore, Singh said.

Besides, a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report has stated that scam worth Rs 70 crores took place while executing works for the `Simhast' mela in Ujjain, he said. -- PTI
