KOTTAYAM: Coimbatore's Bharathiar University defeated Mysore 25-22, 25-19, 25-15 to enter the quarterfinals of the South-West inter-university women's volleyball championship at the MGU Stadium here on Tuesday evening. Captain P. Mohana, who beat the Mysore blocker Mythrei with her angled smashes and wily drops, and setter N. Suganthi were the stars of Bharathiar's fine victory. Later, Mangalore defeated Rani Durgavathi Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur, 28-30, 28-26, 25-10, 25-15 and entered the quarterfinals. The big guns, including defending champion Kannur and runner-up Madras, will come into action on Wednesday in the quarterfinals.
