HUBLI: Minister for Health and Family Welfare R. Ashok has set a 15-day deadline for health officials to take corrective steps and improve the conditions at the District Civil Hospital in Dharwad.
HIV test
Speaking to presspersons during a "Free Eye Check-up and Surgery Camp" organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party here on Tuesday, the Minister said that the Government was planning to make HIV test mandatory before marriage. Describing the decision of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to stay overnight at the house of an HIV-affected person as a great step towards boosting the morale of HIV-affected people, the Minister said that more programmes would be organised to bring the HIV-affected people into mainstream of society.
Wards inspected
Earlier, the Health Minister visited the District Civil Hospital in Dharwad along with a few BJP leaders and inspected wards. The Minister also interacted with patients and asked them about the facilities at the hospital.
