Inter-university meet from tomorrow

Bangalore: The 67th all-India inter-university athletic championship will be held at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here from January 25 to 29. A total of 2358 participants will be present during the championship.

Reigning champion Mahatma Gandhi University (Kottayam) will have the highest representation with 55 members.

At a press conference here on Tuesday, Dr. R. Munireddy, Director of Physical Education, Bangalore University, said, "with only athletes in the under-25 age-group participating, the cream of talent will be on display."

While there are a handful of internationals from Bangalore University — Mohammed Mudassir, Bindu Rani and Shilpa Sundar, the likes of GNDU and Delhi are also expected to be represented by a good sprinkling of international stars.
