HYDERABAD: "Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation [APSRTC] will be forced to increase the bus fares if the occupancy ratio [OR] does not improve," RTC chairman Gone Prakash Rao said here on Tuesday. "Coupled with the poor patronage is the spiralling price of fuel that has added to the woes of the largest transport corporation in the world," Mr. Prakash Rao said at a function to give away awards for APSRTC drivers and mechanics for their performance in getting high mileage from each kilometre of diesel consumed by the buses. The function was organised jointly by APSRTC and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL).
