ANANTAPUR: Rajya Sabha and TDP Polit Bureau member, M.V. Mysoora Reddy, has asked the party activists to strengthen the organisation from the village and mandal level as the next two years will be crucial for the party to regain its past glory. Speaking at the party's district general body meeting here on Tuesday, he asked the mandal level ad hoc committees formed recently to take the responsibility of strengthening the membership in the coming weeks and also expose the failures of the Congress Government and its anti-people policies. The awareness created during the membership drive would stand the party in good stead, he suggested.
Concern over graft
Turning to corruption in the Government, the MP said it had spread to all the levels from top to bottom in the present dispensation. Bribes were being taken from irrigation contractors to PDS dealers, he alleged. The Government had also failed in conducting the DSC test properly last year and alleged that two ruling party legislators and the Chief Minister's relatives were behind the change of OMR sheets of the test in Kadapa district to favour "their candidates" from whom they had collected huge sums. Party whip and Uravakonda legislator P. Keshav alleged that the Government was looting the State and passing a part of the `booty' to people in Delhi. Former legislator of Madakasira Y.T. Prabhakar Reddy criticised the naming of drinking water scheme after N. Sreerama Reddy, uncle of Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy.
