Suspended DEO threatens to end life

Staff Reporter

KADAPA: Kadapa District Educational Officer Y. Balaiah, who has been suspended following detection of irregularities in DSC 2006, said on Tuesday that he would end his life if his involvement in the irregularities was proved.

Alleging at a press conference that he was made a `scapegoat' for being honest, he wondered how he could be made responsible for manipulation of OMR sheets at Hyderabad, after the DSC test was over. No allegations came up right from the stage of issue of applications till completion of DSC test, he said.

Chief superintendents and departmental superintendents were appointed on District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu's directions, Mr. Balaiah said. Proddatur Deputy DEO K. Satyanarayana Murthy, school assistant Sankaraiah were sent to Hyderabad, along with two escort policemen, for handing over the OMR sheets at the reception centre, he said.

The Deputy DEO and others manipulated OMR sheets at Hyderabad, he alleged.
