Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Human Rights Commission chairman N. Dinakar on Tuesday directed the Government to appoint a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at the Vilappilsala Primary Health Centre (PHC). The recommendation followed a visit to the PHC by Mr. Dinakar to assess the conditions there. The Government was asked to appoint adequate number of staff nurses and to ensure that the RMO stayed in the quarters attached to the hospital. The new out-patient (OP) wing should be completed soon. The commission also recommended the acquisition of 60 cents of land adjacent to the PHC to develop facilities. The Nemom block panchayat was directed to install a pump in the well and supply water to the building.
