Metro services to be affected on R-Day

In view of the strict security arrangements

NEW DELHI: Metro Rail services in the Capital will be partially curtailed on January 26 in view of the security arrangements for the Republic Day Parade.Services will also be affected on January 29 on account of the Beating Retreat ceremony, the Delhi Rail Metro Corporation announced.

On January 26, there will be no Metro Rail service at Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat stations of Line-2 and Mandi House, Pragati Maidan and Indraprastha stations of Line-3 till 12-30 p.m. Normal service at these stations will start after 12-30 p.m.

Metro Rail service on Line-2 will be available only from Vishwa Vidyalaya to Rajiv Chowk and on Line-3 from Dwarka Sector-9 to Barakhamba Road from 6 a.m. to 12-30 p.m. on Friday and services on Line-1, Shahdara to Rithala would continue without any changes. On January 29, Metro Rail service will not be available at Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat stations of Line-2 between 3-30 p.m. and 6-30 p.m. Service on Line-2 will be available only between Vishwa Vidyalaya and Rajiv Chowk during this time. Service on Line-1, Shahdara to Rithala and Line-3, Dwarka Sector-9 to Indraprastha would operate normally. All Metro parking lots will remain closed between 7 p.m. on January 25 to 1 p.m. on January 26 because of security reasons.
