LONDON: Controversy pays, as Shilpa Shetty will discover when she leaves the Big Brother house at the weekend after having been at the centre of an international race row. The Bollywood star, barely known in Britain until three weeks ago, is reported to have been ``bombarded'' with offers from the entertainment industry, thanks to the media coverage of her experience on the Celebrity Big Brother show, where shewas racially bullied by fellow housemate Jade Goody. The offers include a ``substantial six-figure sum'' to present the British version of Cricket Star, a reality show built around the search for a cricket star. ``The series has just started in India and we're hoping to bring it to Britain in the summer. Bollywood actress Shweta Salve is presenting the Indian version, so who better than Shilpa for the British one?'' Simon Hughes, who conceived the show, told The Daily Telegraph, the newspaper he works for.
