Mudivarthi5 Kondamacharyulu
TIRUPATI: Mudivarthi Kondamacharyulu, an octogenarian litterateur, was felicitated and presented `Ananta Lakshmikantha Sahithi Puraskar' at a function in Tirupati on Wednesday. Mr. Kondamacharyulu has penned more than 40 compositions, many of which are topics for study in Sri Venkateswara, Andhra, Bangalore, Mysore and Gulbarga universities. In fact, his works are subject for intensive research for scholars of SVU. He is presently the controller of TTD's publications wing.
`Shashti poorthi'
The function was organised in connection with the `Shashti Poorthi' of R.Ananta Padmanabha Rao, retired Deputy Director-General of Doordarshan, New Delhi, who instituted the Puraskar. Presiding over the function, noted writer and film actor Gollapudi Maruti Rao and TTD chairman B.Karunakar Reddy, recalled the services rendered by Kondamacharyulu to the literary world and lauded the `Ananta Lakshmi Kantha Sahithi Peetham' for the initiative. `Sahiti Siromani' Samudrala Lakshmanaiah, Sahasravadhani and Annamacharya project director Medasani Mohan, Rayalaseema folklore expert Pulikanti Krishna Reddy and a litterateur Voleti Parvatisam spoke.
