`CBI probe into Paritala case a farce'

Staff Reporter

TDP leaders pay tributes on his death anniversary

IN FOND MEMORY: Paritala Sunita, widow of Paritala Ravindra and Penukonda MLA, paying tributes to her husband at Venkatapuram village in Anantapur on Wednesday.

ANANTAPUR: Rich tributes were paid to Paritala Ravindra on his second death anniversary by TDP leaders and a large number of his followers led by his widow and Penukonda legislator P. Sunita at Venkatapuram village of Ramagiri mandal in the district on Wednesday.

A large number of Ravi followers donated blood and pledged their eyes on the occasion. The memorial (`samadhi') of Ravi was decorated tastefully with flowers ordered from different countries.

Speaking at a public meeting organised on the occasion Rajya Sabha member M.V. Mysoora Reddy termed the ongoing probe into Ravi's murder case as a farce. It had failed to even identify the real conspirators behind the murder in over two years of probe so far, though all the accused in the case now had voluntarily surrendered before the police.

Deputy floor leader of the TDP in the Assembly N. Janardhan Reddy said Paritala Ravindra was a people's leader and was not a factionist, as dubbed by his detractors. He was a major hurdle for the Congress not only in Anantapur district but in different parts too.

Paritala Sunita said political rivals of her husband had thought of burying his sway over masses by killing him but they could visit Venkatapuram to have a first hand assessment of the following her husband enjoyed among people even now.

`Rakta danam and netra danam' were organised on the occasion.

Getting the political rivals killed had been the practice for the Chief Minister for long and that's why Ravi was killed, former Minister Tammineni Sitaram alleged.

Shobha Nagi Reddy urged the party activists to take Ravi as an inspiration to strengthen the organisation.
