BELGAUM: Belgaum Zilla Panchayat president Fakeerappa Gorbal has urged people to use water judiciously and asked officials of the Central Groundwater Authority (CGWA) and the Central Groundwater Board (CGWB) to take effective measures to increase the water-table. In his inaugural address at the one-day training programme on groundwater management organised by the CGWA and the CGWB here on Tuesday, he said indiscriminate use of water would lead to a crisis. Chief executive officer of the zilla panchayat M.E. Shivalingmurthy said each family must evolve their own methods, besides rainwater harvesting techniques to maintain the water-table in their localities.
