It was a show of budding talent

CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA: Students of National Public School, Indiranagar, presenting a music programme as part of Tarang '07.

BANGALORE: The week-long silver jubilee celebrations of National Public School, Indiranagar, culminated with "Tarang '07," a cultural extravaganza, here on Wednesday.

It was a show of talent by upcoming vocalists, instrumentalists and dancers of Grades 8, 9 and 11 of the school.

The programme began with the rendition of "Vathapi Ganapathim... " The school orchestra then cast its spell with "Navavarna."

There was also a presentation that included all the classical dance forms of the country.

"Krishna Leela" brought to life the story of Krishna and also highlighted "Geetopadesha."

The senior choir of the school presented songs in Sanskrit, Kannada, Hindi and English.

The programme concluded with "Tandava Nritya" in which the heavenly abode of Mount Kailasa was recreated. Violinist L. Subramaniam was the chief guest. He said that his children who were studying in the school were growing up as well-behaved and disciplined individuals.

"The school focuses not only on academics, but also on the overall development of a child," he said.

"Education brings the best in a human being," chairman of the institution K. P. Gopalakrishna said.

He stressed the need to provide quality elementary education which he said would equip children to face challenges.

The eighth branch of the school would come up in HSR Layout in the next academic year, he said.
