Ban orders in Adugodi

BANGALORE: Commissioner of Police Neelam Achuta Rao has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 in Adugodi police station limits from 6 p.m. on Thursday to 6 a.m. on Saturday. The ban orders have been clamped to maintain law and order during the "Oorahabba" to be held in Adugodi on Thursday (Ratha Sapthami), Mr. Achuta Rao said. He had ordered the closure of all liquor shops in the area and the sale of liquor when ban orders would be in force. About one lakh devotees were expected to participate in the festivities and 25 palanquin processions would to be taken out on the occasion, Mr. Rao said.
