CHENNAI: Chennai-born Madumitha's claim to fame is her new 14-minute short film, which packs a lot of emotions. After studying multimedia in Singapore and completing a course in New York Film Academy, Madumitha decided to do a short film in English.
Shot in five days
The film `Yours Affectionately' was made in just five days with the help of 20 Hollywood technicians and artists. The story is about a teenaged girl who loses her parents in an accident and comes under the wings of Prity and Raj, her aunt and uncle. "Unable to deal with the untimely death of her parents due to a car accident, Sainika is driven into her own cocoon. Adopted by her aunt and uncle, she struggles to fill the void in her life. Her aunt, who has a child of her own, is unsure as to how to deal with the teenager. Sainika is so obscured in her own grief that she fails to understand Prity's attempt at trying to reach out to her. Misunderstanding her intentions as trying to replace her dead mother," Madumitha notes.
A mix of emotions
`Yours Affectionately' is a mixture of emotions over the passage of time and seeks to understand Sainika's grief and Prity's ordeal. Neeta Mittal and Madumitha have produced the film. The camera is handled by Michael Nie. Madumitha's father is television actor-producer Sundararaman.
