Held under Goondas Act

CHENNAI: Yobu Saravanan, head of a trust in Vellore, against whom the Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Department is investigating complaints of cheating of building contractors, has been detained under the Goondas Act.

The Chennai Police Commissioner ordered the detention based on the recommendation by the CB-CID.

Three cases pending

Three cases and 300 petitions are pending against Saravanan, an officer said.
