Puducherry: Senior Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) has appealed to the invitees (holding cards) to the Republic Day celebration at Indira Gandhi sports complex at Uppalam here on Friday to reach the venue through Vambakeerapalayam road. They are also requested not to bring handbags, food packets, water bottles, cameras, mobile phones or any other baggage. Those having car passes should park their vehicles in the sports complex by entering the venue through the Vambakeerapalayam road and others should park their vehicles at the space earmarked at Gate II. Students participating in the programmes should keep their bicycles or two wheelers inside the ITI for Women opposite the sports complex. Those not holding invitation cards should reach the venue through Ambedkar Salai (Uppalam road). Cars and other vehicles should be parked on the Uppalam exhibition ground, and two wheelers inside the Petit Seminaire Primary school ground. Vehicles are banned on Beach Road between 6 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. and between 4 and 10 p.m.
