Raja Hanumappa Naik confirms that he has submitted his resignation letter

GULBARGA: The general body meeting of the Gulbarga Zilla Panchayat on Thursday witnessed heated words between members over reports of the resignation letter submitted by vice-president Raja Hanumappa Naik.

Leader of the Opposition Subash Rathod said there were reports in the media that Mr. Naik had submitted his resignation . Mr. Karikundi initially said he was not aware of this but later said the vice-president had submitted his resignation to Agricultural Marketing Minister Sharanabasappa Darshanapur.

Mr. Naik said he had submitted his resignation to the Minister and till it was accepted he had a right to continue in the post. However, Congress member said he had no moral right to occupy the post after submitting his resignation.
