CHENNAI:
Bank of India, on Thursday, launched a credit-counselling centre here, the third such centre in the country.
The bank has similar centres in Mumbai and Vardha. These centres have been formed under the aegis of a trust called Abhay. In Chennai, the centre has been set up at the T.Nagar branch of the bank.
These centres are aimed at assisting people to gain access to the structured financial system, creating awareness among the public about financial management, counselling people to resolve their debt problems and helping borrowers in distress to rehabilitate themselves. Addressing a press conference here, M. Balachandran, Chairman and Managing Director, Bank of India, said the counselling would be available to customers of other banks too.
