Contributory pension scheme opposed

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The State Government staff staged lunch-hour demonstrations on Thursday in protest against the move to introduce contributory pension scheme.

The meetings were held under the aegis of Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers and Workers at Gruhakalpa, Boorgula Ramakrishna Rao building, Errum Manzil offices complex and Insurance Bhavan.

Addressing the gathering at BRK building, M. Janardhan Reddy, Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Public Sector Employees Federation, said the scheme was sought to be introduced to appease multi-national companies. The scheme was neither helpful to the Government nor the employees, he said.
