NEW DELHI:
The reconstitution of the Bharatiya Janata Party's central team of office-bearers is expected to take place within the next few days.
As already indicated by The Hindu , highly placed sources have suggested that the team could see two new faces Gopinath Munde from Maharashtra and Jual Oran from Orissa as general secretaries. Arun Jaitley and Ananth Kumar are expected to continue as general secretaries.
Party president Rajnath Singh said here on Thursday that he would announce his new team by January 31. He was speaking informally to journalists at a lunch hosted by the new Member of Parliament from Bhagalpur (Bihar), Shahnawaz Hussain, in honour of the party's deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, V.K. Malhotra.
Mr. Singh said that there would not be any major changes in the party. However, he did not rule out the induction of new faces.
There is a vacancy for a general secretary post, caused by the death of Pramod Mahajan. The vice-president post too lies vacant due to the resignation of Jharkhand leader Babulal Marandi. Another vice-president L. Ganesan has, since, become the president of the BJP's Tamil Nadu State unit.
