Discussing children's literature threadbare

MANGALORE: Chair on Shivaram Karanth, Mangalore University, will organise a seminar on "children's literature in Dakshina Kannada'' at Mangalagangotri on January 31 and February 1, according to Sabiha, director of the chair.

Teachers of chosen primary and high schools from the district would attend the seminar. Writer Vaidehi would inaugurate it and K.M. Kaveriappa, Vice-Chancellor of the university, would preside over the inaugural session, she said in a release.

Children's theatre, use of language in children's literature and Shivaram Karanth's concept of education would be discussed. Students would stage a play "Maya Kudure" on January 31 as part of the seminar, she said.
