HASSAN: Founder president of Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat Y.K. Muddukrishna will inaugurate the two-day Hassan Taluk Kannada Sahitya Sammelan on January 27. Giving the details of the programme here on Wednesday, the taluk unit president H.L. Janardhan said the venue had been named "Jeevanadi Hemavathi Vedike," and the programmes would be held on the district Kannada Sahitya Parishat premises. A.S. Kale Gowda is the sammelan president.
Four seminars
Four seminars will be held as part of the sammelan. The first will be on folklore and the speakers will include Appaji Gowda, Kenchatanahalli Shivarame Gowda. The one on creative literature will have Gorur Shivesh and Ja.Na. Tejasri as speakers. Shailaja Hassan and Girija Dinakar will speak at the seminar on women's literature, and Gorur Anantharaju and Sanne Gowda at the seminar on theatre. A "kavi goshti" has also been organised in connection with the meet. Felicitations will be offered to Ranganath V.C., Rajagopala Shetty, Patel Shivaram, A. Nagaraj, P. Shadrax, Shankar, Chowda Naik, Renuka Prabhu, M.K. Ratna Prabha, Prabhakar, Jagadish, Jayamma, Hema Ananth and G.H. Hanume Gowda. Shambunatha Swamiji and Shivalinga Swamiji will attend the function.
